QUALIFIED V/S SKILLED MANPOWER – In a globalized age where the competition for growth and jobs has become intense; shortage of skilled manpower in India has leap up with a huge tremendous pace.

With the development in the usage of technology devices in the country, emerging companies require skilled workers who are quite handy with the machine, tools, and computer equipment’s. Due to the rising need for the requirement of skilled workers in the industry most of the India’s youthful population lacks behind to secure employment. Due to rise in this problem it has overall became a fundamental issue that demands an intent look and prompt measures for upskilling the Indian workforce from its roots.

We live in a country where people are spending their parent’s life savings and borrowed money on education and even then, not getting standard education, and struggling to get employment of their choice.

In India, millions of students are victim of an unrealistic, pointless, mindless rat race. The mind numbing competition and rote learning do not only crush the creativity and originality of millions of Indian students every year, but also drives brilliant students to commit suicide.

Several surveys have been conducted in almost all states of India which claim “92% of Indian teachers believe that education system in India lacks focus on skill development.” And today world wants skilled people who can explore new ways to work with machines, tools, computer and equipments.

There is a need for our system to change and below written saying is the best suit on the context which forced me to write this article,

“Give a man a fish and you feed him one day, and if we teach him how to catch fishes and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Our youth generation need such skills to eradicate the growing problems in our society and by contributing in our new education system by being entrepreneurs, innovators, artists, scientists, thinkers and writers who can establish the foundation of a knowledge based economy and more focus should be given to skill based education by the respective authorities to make the education system more interesting, effective and useful so that the young qualified generation have the ability to get the job of his choice in the respective field he desire.
